Advent of Spring 2025

Spirit of Speyside
You know that Spring is very close with the Speyside Whisky Festival taking place. What a wonderful few days with pretty good weather for most of it. One emerging feature of the festival is that it is not all about Whisky. Many events and activities were hosted by other businesses in the area, such as tartan and wool making, food of all descriptions, crafts and many, many more.
One distillery that was heavily involved in the festival was the Ballindalloch Distillery situated on the Ballindalloch Estate. This artisan distillery opened its doors on Saturday 3 May (unfortunately the wettest and coldest day of the festival!) for a BBQ and tours of the distillery.
They also launched a new whisky in conjunction with a crime fiction book by the author John Sunderland called ‘The Castle’ based on the Ballindalloch Castle. What better way to enjoy your time in Moray than by drinking a whisky while reading a novel based on the area!
The 2025 Season
The 2025 visitor season is now upon us, and it has started very positively. Visitors are arriving from all over the world, in awe of this beautiful part of Scotland and keen to find out more about our history and heritage. They are staying locally and are fitting in several activities each day as they move through the area and onto other parts of Scotland.
The NE250 has really given them a beautiful route to follow that enables them to engage with the landscape, nature and the activities that Moray and Speyside have to offer.
